"Project Princess" on Kickstarter

At this moment, I think, most of you are familiar with Kickstarter. For myself, I only found out about it a couple of months ago.

So, just a brief explanation about kickstarter, it is a crowdfunding site through which enterpreneurs, writers, Music folks etc can get funding for a particular venture.

The project 'Princess' is about adapting a historical romance novel into an animated, feature film,

In my previous blog I have written about the inception of this idea and the lack of historical romance works available for screening.

I was initially planning to launch the Project on Kickstarter in Mid January but due to some setbacks am hoping to have this online by the end of this month.

The success of a project on kickstarter is usually determined by its popularity. In some fortunate cases, the projects are handpicked by the staff and automatically attain the title.

For others, well they have to promote their own work.

Kickstarter gives a choice of how long the project can be on air for, This is anytime from one day to a sixty day period. However, it has been determined that the projects which are alive for a full sixty days are seldom successful.

If a project fails to achieve the desirable status of 'staff pick,' the other choice of making this project successful is by getting people interested in it from day one. The number of visits to the site is a good start, contributing to the project makes all the difference.

A tier of rewards will be provided for contributions beginning anywhere from two dollars.

I will be setting up the final amount which is needed to complete this venture, (approx USD $250,000)

Also be advised that Kickstarter is an all or nothing project, (unlike Indiegogo). If a project falls short on the last day by even a few dollars, it has been deemed an unsuccessful campaign.
